In his recent ‘Ad Clerum’ letter (18/10/21), Bishop Robson announced several changes in the Diocese, resulting from what is the beginning of a process of looking at the re-structuring of the Diocese as a whole. One of these changes will affect us in particular, namely that St. Matthew’s Church, Auchtermuchty, will return to the grouping of Fife parishes. So that after the weekend of 6th/7th November 2021 St. Matthew’s will be clustered with the churches in Newport, Tayport, and Cupar, and no longer with St. James’, Kinross. Mgr. McInally of Cupar will once again have charge of St. Matthew’s after that date and will be assisted in looking after all of these churches by Fr. Jude Mukoro who is currently assistant priest to Canon Mulholland in Perth. Fr. Mukoro will take up residence in the presbytery in Newport.
